South Louisiana Trip

A few weeks ago, we went down to South Louisiana to see the Taylor family. We had such a good time. We left on Thursday and made the four hour trip that morning.

When we got there, we meet Aunt Leigh Anne and Cousin Ethan. Ethan spent the afternoon with us. We went to get a snowball and then we went to the beauty salon and I got a hair cut (see previous post). After visiting with the ladies at the shop, we went by to see Gramps (Daddy's Grandpaw). Later that evening, we went to watch Ethan play baseball. I really enjoyed my time at the ball park. We saw lots of people there and lots of kids playing ball...Can't wait until I can play :) After the game, we went back to Nana's house to visit and eat dinner. It was a long day and I was ready for bed.

On Friday, I spent the day with Nana. She took off of school early so mommy and daddy could spend the day in Baton Rouge. They went shopping, bought me something of course, and then went to the LSU baseball game. They said I was too little to go, but maybe next year. I didn't care, because me and Nana had a great time playing that day. I even got to play with Uncle Will, Uncle Steven and Uncle Michael. I must say, they all looked like daddy when they walked in, and I was a little confused for a while.

The next day, we went to the Audubon Zoo. Cousin Ethan and Cousin Lizzie came with us as well. We had a blast. I got to see so many animals. They even had a Dinosaur Exhibit to walk through. I think the Giraffe was my favorite animal. I also got to ride the carousel. We saw a gorilla carrying around a bag on his back. He looked like he was a human. It was such a fun day.

On Sunday, we got up and left early so we could take our time getting home. We stopped to eat in Jackson, Mississippi. We made it back around 3:30 that afternoon and boy was I glad to be home. While I had a fantastic time in South Louisiana, there is no place like home. I was so happy to see everyone, and I can't wait to visit again this summer.

Here are some pictures of the trip:

A New Hair Style

I got another haircut. This time mommy says I have a BOB! I know what you are thinking, my name is Sarah Kate and not Bob, but whatever!!! We went to Bogalusa over Spring Break, more pics from that trip to come, and we visited the Salon that mommy worked at when she lived there. Her friend Mrs. Jane Ann cut my hair because mommy was to scared to do it. Thank God, it was looking a little rough. I got to sit in Mrs. Mullins lap while she cut it. It is the cutest little hair cut ever. It adds a few years to my look. I have noticed a few 2-year-olds checking me out lately. Thank you so much Mrs. Jane Ann. It looks great.

New Swing

If you drive by my house, you will notice a wonderful new addition to our front oak tree. I have a new swing. It is pink and my Nana gave it to me for my birthday. I love it. Daddy hung it from a tree limb in our front yard, and he and mommy take turns pushing me. I like to go real high in it. I foresee lots of days swinging in my new swing this summer.

Easter Pictures

I know it's late, but it's better late than never :) Here are some shots from my first Easter Egg Hunt at the Neal's house. It was such a blast. There were so many kids there. We all had plenty of eggs to choose from. I had so much fun. I even went on a hay ride with Mr. Jody Adams. Mommy, Daddy, Fran and Aunt Stacy went with me. I got to see the Easter Bunny as well. I can't wait until next year when I get to go again. I know there are a lot of pictures, but it was a fun day!!!

Happy Birthday To Me

As most of you know that follow this blog, Saturday was my FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! It was so much fun. First of all, my family from South Louisiana came to visit me on Friday night. We went to eat at Port Au Prince. It was so gooooood. My cousin Ethan and cousin Lizzie also came to town and we played all night. The next day, Nana, Papa and Lizzie came over to our house. Aunt Leigh Anne, Uncle Chris and Ethan stayed the night at my house so they were already there. Mommy and Daddy were busy getting things ready for my party, so I played with everyone else. Ethan and Lizzie taught me a thing or two. More good news, about thirty minutes before the party was going to start, Uncle Steven and Miss Greta showed up. They drove 4 hours from Bogalusa to see me and celebrate with me. I was so excited to see them. About 1:30, people started arriving for the party. Mommy and Daddy decided to just have a few family friends over for the party. They said next year I can invite some friends over.

Where do I begin? There was cake, treats, sandwiches, cake, grapes, lolly pops, cake, rice crispy treats, ice cream, cake...did I say there was cake? I even had 5 ballons on my high chair. I was a queen for a day. Mommy also had all kind of cute Easter decorations out. The house looked so festive. I also had a ton of presents to open. It was like Christmas, but not cold outside.

We ate first, and boy did I eat, and then opened my presents. I had cake from one side of my face to the other. It was the first time I have ever tasted something like that. Much better than prunes!!! I have never had so much sugar at one time. I think I like sugar :) After I stuffed my face with cake, Daddy feed me some ice cream. It was so good. Vanilla, my favorite...I guess!!!

After eating, we then opened presents. I got so many cute clothes as well as some neat new toys. Aunt Leigh Anne got me a toy that will help me walk. It is so much fun to push around. I can hold on to it and walk behind it. She says I will be walking in no time. I hope so :) I even got books from Gramps (Daddy's Grandpa) to read that came with a CD that reads them out loud. I love it when Mommy and Daddy read to me.

After a long day with family and friends, everyone went home and I took a much needed looooong nap. I was exhausted. It was the best birthday ever. I can't believe I am already one.

Here are a few pictures from the party:

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!!!
